About us

The Waihi Vegetarian Festival has been running since 2016 and takes place annually during spring or summer months (November or December).

Led and organised by volunteers, the food festival is a free community event where you can try out a wide range of vegan and vegetarian cuisines from around the world.

With lots of good food and plenty of things to do, we want all our visitors to have a great time while enjoying new experiences with their family and friends.

And who knows? You might walk away feeling inspired to make more compassionate food choices and try out a different way of cooking and eating — one bite at a time!
